Our House

This is our first house. We bought it in 2007 and we are always saving for projects. Let me give you a tour. This is the entryway. The glass panes in the doors let in all the evening sun. You would be surprised how much sunlight those little windows let in!

This is the view from the front door. It is a very open floor plan.

Our kitchen looks out into the living and dining room area. I would really like new counter tops and fixtures for the cabinets. Hopefully our next project.

Our living area. I love the vaulted ceilings.

These three photos are taken by my mom in France. I just love the colors and details that came out when I blew them up to 11x17.
I love bamboo. We put in these bamboo floors. It was a huge project and our first! The dogs scratch them up but we love the way they shine in the light. The vase is bamboo as well.
Our master bedroom that is just off the living room. I have some of my mom's art as well as photography Eric and I have taken. I put all the photos in sepia tone and I hope to paint the walls latte eventually.
This is our "office" This is my wild room with the lime green paint. Eric built shelving in the closet to act as our bookshelves and entertainment center.
This is our guest bedroom. I wanted to have at least one red wall. Eventually this will become our nursery with a safari theme!

One of the worst features of this house is that all the doors are light blue. Painting doors is very difficult. Slowly all our doors are becoming white. The quilt Debie made us for our wedding. We picked the square pattern out and love it.

Family

I am going to start my first blog with our family. No babies yet! However I have fabulous fur babies that give us so much joy, I can't wait to see what schmeegans (kids) bring. Eric and I have been married for 3 years and in that time we have accumulated two cats and two dogs. Let me introduce them....

Kona- the wild one. She constantly demands our attention. Has more energy then all of us combined. She enjoys stealing dish towels and proving to us that she can run faster. In her rare moments of calmness she is the best cuddler I have ever met.
Jett- the sweetheart. I thought all puppies were like Kona, but turns out she is high maintenance. He is sensitive and will endlessly cuddle with you if you let him.His favorite activity is training to be faster then Kona and of course taking naps.
Bailey- the nose licker. I have had him 6 years. He is always there when I fall asleep and there when I wake up. He endlessly licks our noses and likes to sleep on your chest so he can gaze at you.
Izzy- the plus sized model. Izzy is the sweetest little kitty. Even though she is 2 years old she still has a kitten meow. She loves to eat and is obsessed with Eric. She eats every with us begging with the dogs. She even eats their food. A girl after my own heart;-)

(You think I am bad about my pets, just wait until we have kids)
